RICK TAKACH BIOGRAPHY
Rick Takach, president of Northwest Hospitality Group, has more than 20 years experience in the hotel industry. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in business administration, Takach began his career as a night auditor at a ski lodge in Vail, Colorado. Takach has since gained first-hand experience in nearly every aspect of hotel operation and management.
In 1996, Takach co-founded Northwest Hospitality Group with a vision of creating unique hotels that offer the finest in quality and service. Today, the Vancouver, Washington based company owns and manages hotels in Washington, Oregon and Texas.
Before forming his own company, for seven years Takach served as executive vice-president of Dimension Development Co. Inc., of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Prior to that, he served as regional manager for the Marriott Corporation in Bethesda, Maryland.
Takach has a reputation for attracting and retaining talented hospitality industry professionals who in turn create award-winning hotels with outstanding customer satisfaction. One of Northwest Hospitality Group’s properties, the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Vancouver, Washington, has received merit awards each year since its inception and its general manager was honored as one of Homewood Suites’ top general managers in 2000.
Other notable achievements include Northwest Hospitality Group’s $45 million renovation of the historic Multnomah Hotel in downtown Portland and the recent conversion of the historic Casa de Palmas Hotel in McAllen, Texas, into a Renaissance Hotel.
