Ms. Hames has been with Northwest Hospitality Group since 1997 as the Controller overseeing the centralized accounting office. She has received the designation of Certified Hospitality Accounting Executive with the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals Association. Ms. Hames was involved in many areas of the beginning of Northwest Hospitality Group from establishing the policies and procedures, setting up the property level daily/monthly reports, establishing a chart of accounts and developing the financial statements. She is also experienced in obtaining the necessary licenses and permits required in opening hotels.
Prior to her employment with Northwest Hospitality Group, Ms. Hames worked for Sterling Hotels Corporation where she began in 1992 as a property Controller. She then went to work during the construction phase of a high performance restaurant and night club where she oversaw the construction budget and set-up of the procedures. She was also involved in the purchasing of the FF&E for the facility. Upon opening, she was then the property controller handling day to day duties. Ms. Hames then relocated to Sterling’s corporate office as an Internal Auditor, where she oversaw up to fifteen properties with regard to training of new staff and establishing/monitoring property level controls. In 1995 she was promoted to Corporate Controller.
Ms. Hames has property level experience as an Office Manager/Assistant General Manager and for a brief time job shared with a General Manager who was experiencing medical problems and could not work full-time. During this time, she was in charge of setting up franchise training programs and corporate training programs along with the general day to day duties the property required.
