Located in Alton, Illinois, just 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Spencer T. Olin Golf Course was built on rolling hills and offers many scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Arnold Palmer personally designed Spencer T. Olin Golf Course for his long time friend Spencer T. Olin, founder of Olin Industries.
Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course is the proud home of the 1996 and 1999 Women's and Men's U.S. Amateur Public Links Golf Tournaments respectively, sponsored by the United States Golf Association. As the host course for these prestigious events, Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course offers immaculate course conditions, a superior level of service and a reputation for a quality experience.

And coming this fall, Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course, in cooperation with the United States Golf Association and the Spencer T. Olin Foundation, will open the Learning Center at Spencer T. Olin Golf Community Golf Course. This Learning Center will feature a separate nine-hole facility for junior golfers, along with special golf programs taught by Arnold Palmer Golf Academy-certified instructors, designed to bring the game of golf to more junior players.
The course offers challenges to all levels, with water hazards on nine holes and pocketed greens. In addition, shot accuracy is essential because numerous sand bunkers have been positioned on the fairways and around the greens. The Zoysia fairway, Blue Rye Fescue roughs and Bentgrass greens make a great combination for an enjoyable round of golf. The greens are moderate in size with subtle breaks that make putting a challenge.
