Harry Kellett studied Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management and graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi with a Business Degree in 1962.
He started his career with Loews Hotels and worked in the Front Office, Food & Beverage and Sales departments.
In 1969 he joined Marriott Hotels International and was promoted from Sales Manager at the Chicago Marriott at O'Hare to Director of Sales at the Dallas Marriott, then Director of Sales and Marketing for the Houston Marriott. In 1972 he was asked to help open the new 1,000-room Marriott Hotel in New Orleans and when he left the company he was Director of Marketing for that hotel.
He joined Hyatt Hotels in 1975 and was then recruited by Holiday Inns, Inc. to head up a region for that company and was then promoted to Director of Marketing for the Chicago Four Holiday Inn Hotels; a group of four hotels all in downtown Chicago. Harry was asked to put together the first centralized sales and marketing effort for a group of hotels in the history of Holiday Inns, Inc., which he successfully did in 1977 through 1979.
Harry was then recruited to become the Vice President of Sales for a large Holiday Inn franchise organization - Inns of the Americas in Dallas, Texas. Inns of the Americas at that time had twenty-two hotels in the United States, Mexico, Panama and Puerto Rico.
Since 1981, Harry Kellett has had his own executive search firm and personnel placement agency that specializes in placements with the Hospitality Industry at large with a primary emphasis on hotels and hotel companies, the cruise industry and the gaming industry.
In 2001, Harry joined forces with Hospitality Online as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing in addition to continuing to run his executive search firm.
Hospitality Online has grown into one of the best Internet Web sites for hospitality Industry since then and is now regarded as the best niche web site for employment solutions for the hospitality industry.
