| Newark Country Club is an 81-year-old club formed March 1, 1921, and is situated on 115 acres of land in the heart of a medium-sized college (University of Delaware) town. The club has 345 memberships in all categories with an annual budget of $1.9 million (F&B $500,000). Facilities include a beautifully-maintained 18-hole golf course designed by Wilfred Reid, an assistant to one of the most prominent designers of that day. The clubhouse is approximately 20,000 square feet of functional space in a two-story building constructed in the 1950s. The clubhouse consists of a ballroom with seating for 150 for dinner, a covered terrace outside the ballroom, a main dining room seating 60, an upstairs bar/lounger seating 36, and a downstairs grill room seating 40, as well as locker facilities and pro shop. The club also includes a separate swimming pool and locker room constructed within the past seven years. |
