With over 25 years of hospitality experience, Michael, as President of Crescent Hospitality Corporation, is responsible for total management oversight of a hospitality organization, which specializes in hotel, resort & conference center management. Prior to Crescent Hospitality, Michael served as Senior Vice President for Destination Hotels & Resorts, the largest operator of luxury independent hotels, resorts and conference centers in the United States, which included signature assets such as Hotel Del Coronado, Point South Mountain Resort, Eden Roc Resort, Royal Palms Resort & Spa, Wild Dunes Resort and numerous property management resort communities.
Prior to Destination Hotels, Michael was a senior officer for 3 top 20 hotel management organizations: Hudson Hotels Corporation based in Rochester, NY, where Michael served as President & COO. Hudson Hotels operated 52 hotels of all product types, in 21 states. Prior to Hudson Hotels, Michael served as the Chief Operating Officer for Sunstone Hotel Investors, a Real Estate Investment Trust based in San Clemente, CA. Sunstone operated in excess of 60 hotels, primarily on the west coast, and also acquired Kaylor Hotels, converting many Kaylor properties into full service Marriott Hotels, becoming one of Marriott International’s largest franchisees. Prior to Sunstone, Michael served as Senior Vice President of Meristar Hotels and Resorts (Capstar Hotels) based in Washington, D.C., the largest hotel management organization in the industry. Michael was responsible for the operations of Meristar’s luxury, upscale and private label portfolio including the food and beverage operations of signature Meristar restaurants.
Additionally, Michael has served as Vice President and General Manager for hotels with brand affiliations of Westin Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Hotels & Hilton Hotels, with singular annual revenues ranging from $12m to over $60m, representing quality designations of the Mobile Four-Star & AAA Four-Diamond awards. Michael has also served on the franchise marketing boards for Westin Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels and as chairman of the franchise marketing board for Radisson Hotels International. Michael has served as a board member and officer of three publicly traded hotel companies along with involvement in two initial public offerings and three secondary offerings.
