We support the University of Wyoming's first-year students through top-notch residential facilities, a dining facility that boasts restaurant quality food, and a myriad of programs designed to result in a smooth transition to college. There are clear reasons why so many residents return to the residence halls beyond their first year. Returning students find that it's easy to build a community by reserving rooms close to their friends. An abundance of single rooms gives our returning students the privacy that they expect but also a community that supports them. And the convenience of residence hall living makes sense. Here there ’s no need to worry about the high cost of a January gas bill because all of your living expenses are included within a single bill. The nearby Washakie Dining Center, too, increases your choices so that you'll never be faced with consuming the typical “mac-and-cheese fare of off-campus students. Whether you’re experiencing your first year at UW, you're returning to UW, or are joining us as a transfer student, UW residence halls are for you. Our program resonates with this focus because of our alignment with the academic mission of the university and the Department of Residence Life & Dining Services. Allow me to provide a brief road map of how we are planning to meet your many needs this year. Our residential dining program is second to none with its personalized service, delicious culinary creations, and weekly programming and special events. This fall, begin your tour across America with us in our Washakie Dining Center. You can explore our beautiful state of Wyoming, travel back to the beginnings of fall festivals with New England flair, or get caught up in some "California Dreaming" at our end-of-the-year California Beach Party. Additionally, throughout the year you’ll experience the excitement of sports festivals, birthday parties, and seasonal culinary delights. To meet the demands of a wide variety of daily schedules, we provide many dining locations across campus to help you get through your day. Stop by the Ross Hall Dining Room located in the heart of campus for a quick breakfast or a short break between classes. If you're working towards a class or project deadline, take advantage of the Book and Bean coffee shop located on the first floor of the Coe Library. Gather with your friends for some pizza, fresh sushi, or a smoothie, while catching your favorite team’s ballgame at the King Street Market, located upstairs in the Washakie Center. If you're on the run on the east side of campus, stop by the Fine Arts Food Cart and grab a sandwich to get you to your next destination. Taking a tour of the Art Museum? Enjoy a fresh brewed cup of Coal Creek coffee and a specialty pastry baked by our very own Washakie Bakery at the Rendezvous Café. Several other services and programs round out our comprehensive line of dining-related options. If you're planning your next department staff meeting or a special function for your organization, University of Wyoming Catering can provide any level of service you desire. Our Cowboy Care Package program can help you to comfort a friend or colleague who needs a lift or a student who is away from home for their birthday.
