Property Description |
 |
The River Dance Lodge is a small log cabin resort located in central Idaho along the banks of the Clearwater River and next to US Highway 12, roughly half way between Missoula, Montana and Lewiston, Idaho. There are 8 log cabins that sleep from 4-10 people. We have our own on-site restaurant, the Syringa (with a "hard g") Café that seats 70. The resort is owned by the owners of ROW Inc, Idaho’s largest rafting company.
We are seeking a dynamic general manager with resort and restaurant experience. Preference is given to those with a big smile and a bachelor's degree in Business administration or Hospitality Management. Applicants should be positive, energetic, ambitious, motivated, hard working, and have excellent supervisory and communications skills.
This is also the perfect place for a couple. While one person is the General Manager, the other could be the kitchen manager/cook or be a "handyman” type and groundskeeper.
This is a challenging and demanding position requiring someone with high energy and a positive attitude. Applicants should be familiar with POS systems, have experience training and supervising staff, a proven record in providing exemplary guest service and be able to operate ndependently. On the restaurant side, the resort manager would also supervise a kitchen manager who would be capable of developing menus and menu costing, inventory control, supervising other cooks and kitchen staff, have good cooking skills and strong communication skills.
We are seeking people looking for a long term seasonal position. We offer competitive pay, housing during the season, a 401K retirement plan, and FSA. We are a family-run business and offer a healthy, supportive work environment. The owners live four hours away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho but visit on a regular basis. Reservations, sales and marketing take place from our Coeur d’Alene office.
The resort is open from mid-April to mid-October and this position would start in mid to late March and end in mid to late October. Our restaurant menu features Mediterranean cuisine along with some traditional American fare. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner and on weekends, also for breakfast.
The resort was built from 2004-2005 and has a proven track record and loyal guests. The area is an outdoor paradise with rivers for canoeing, rafting and kayaking, wilderness areas for hiking, fishing and hunting and wide-open spaces to explore.
The resort and Syringa Café are a gathering point for rafters and kayakers during the whitewater season in May and June. The rest of the summer draws a more general audience. The Cafe clientele is a mix of cabin guests, those going on our adventure trips, people stopping from the highway and finally, local residents of the area. The Café also packs lunch for one-day rafting trips.
The season starts gradually when we open in mid to late April with some highway traffic and cabin guests. It picks up dramatically once ROW Adventures begins whitewater rafting trips on the Lochsa. It then remains quite busy with the peak season running from roughly June 20 to August 30. Things slow down some in September and then quite a lot in latter September and early October.

We welcome your application. Please email your resume and cover letter to pierre0841@yahoo.com. |

Why People Like to Work for Us |
 |
| If you would enjoy a family run business with great support from the owners, River Dance Lodge may be of interest. We are in a remote location (the nearest town is 16 miles away) and surrounded by pristine nature. If you love the outdoors we could be your place. Our property is small (8 cabins with accommodations for 40-60 people) and a restaurant. The manager has to be a "jack of all trades" as we have a small staff and there are not a lot of outside resources available. We do offer nice perks, as listed above. |
