Company Description
History
Ten years ago, the Hotel San Jose' was a residential motel wallowing in disrepair - a haven for the down, out, recovering and most wanted. Where most saw blight, we saw beauty and opportunity. Today, the San Jose is an urban, bungalow-style hotel whose renovation marked the beginnings of a revitalized South Austin.
It also marked the beginnings of Bunkhouse. Over time, we grew from a single entity to a small collection of businesses. Our reputation was growing as well, and requests for design and consulting services were becoming more frequent. With our project book expanding, we saw an opportunity to formalize the business and bring our amazing network of hospitality experts under one roof.
Thus, with the goal to provide every guest something a little bit different and better than they've experienced before, Bunkhouse was formed.
Our Vision
IT'S NOT THE ROOM, IT'S THE EXPERIENCE
Guests today expect more than ever before. What once were perks have become prerequisites. And the bar for creating a memorable experience - one that compels guests to return, and to spread the word to their friends - is getting increasingly higher.
We believe to survive in this competitive environment one must be
authentically unique - something that's hard to define and even harder to create, but you know it when you see it and feel it. Cookie cutter experiences, even at the luxury end of our business, will not inspire guests or lead to great word of mouth.
What Bunkhouse does, we feel better than any other group, is understand what today's consumer is looking for in a hotel stay. From architecture and interior design, to staffing and operating practices down to the smallest of details, we know how to make even our most well-traveled guests feel something new and special about "a night at a hotel".
