A State and National Historic Landmark, the Havana Riverwalk Inn is located in the heart of downtown on the famous San Antonio Riverwalk. Built in 1914, the building has the air of an Italianate villa-any one of the hotel’s 28 rooms & suites capable of transporting guests to a turn-of-the-century European hotel in Old Havana; Colonial India or Africa. With eclectic antiques, an impressive collection of historic photographs and objects d’art from all over the world, the Havana Riverwalk Inn creates an atmosphere distinctly one-of-a-kind in Texas. The Havana is located directly on San Antonio's famous River Walk, only a few steps away from the city's Central Library and the Southwest Craft Center. A 10-minute walk takes visitors into the heart of the River Walk's entertainment district, with numerous restaurants, theaters, shops and nightclubs. One block away from the Havana is a pick-up site for the city's (50-cent) trolley system, or the Inn's front-desk staff can call for a horse-drawn carriage ride around downtown or a shuttle bus to the airport. River taxis will pick up Havana guests directly outside the Inn for river-barge rides Guest Rooms The Havana has 28 non-smoking guest rooms individually decorated with treasures from around the world. With no two floor plans alike, each room tells it's own story in colors, vintage photographs and accessories. Amenities are thoroughly modern, but consciously downplayed to preserve the inn's nostalgic bent: thermostats are concealed by well-worn fedoras or cowboy hats; electronics command centers are tucked away in antique armoires Dining The historic Havana Riverwalk Inn features one of San Antonio's most intimate yet energetic bars: Club Cohiba-A Latin Bar and Tapas Grille. Since 1997, Club Cohiba has attracted loyal crowds of professionals and trendsetters enamored by the premier cocktails, wines, cigars, antique humidor and the unique tropical deco ambiance-both inside the bar and out in the lush foliage of the 20-foot arbor. The full-service bar specializes in martinis, while the kitchen turns out Cuban/Caribbean/Spanish and South American-inspired cuisine featuring a variety of tapas, paellas, ethnic drinks and desserts, and other light fare
